Sermon Summary - Sunday 22 May 2022

Main Bible passage:  Mark 13:9-13

In stress-filled times our minds can be disturbed making our responses unreliable. Jesus knows that the four disciples who ask him about the future face just this danger. They have heard him predict the fall of Jerusalem’s temple, which means Israel losing God. What does that mean for them? Jesus warns them to watch their hearts and not resort to violence, no matter what fights break upon them. God will help them to stand, speak and remain sane, despite having to face awful rejection. Life can be filled with bewilderment and anxiety but with God there is always hope.
