Jerusalem’s first century leaders are ready to kill Jesus. But they can’t do it; it has to be the Roman authorities. So they drag him off to the governor, looking to manipulate Pilate into doing their dirty work for them. But Pilate finds Jesus to be very different from what he expected. He is unnerved by this man, amazed by him, maybe even ready to release him. Jesus’ enemies scream accusations to turn the tide, but Jesus silence, broken by a brief enigmatic answer, cuts through it all. Christians are called to be like their Lord. Living by faith in God, not by the darks ways of this world.
