Sermon Summary - Sunday 15 May 2022

Main Bible passage:  Mark 13:1-8

Once the disciples recognised Jesus as the Christ, God’s king, he began to tell them of his impending death. He also assured them that this will work out for glory, since the Father will raise him back to life. But they could not take it in: it made no sense for Messiah to die. Yet God’s power is greater than human strength and wisdom. And now, Jesus speaks to them of further developments which will test their faith in this. Ancient Israel will collapse, Jerusalem be smashed and the temple removed. It will be traumatic. But if they hold onto him, they’ll see God do great things.
