Sermon Summary - Sunday 19 September 2021

Main Bible passage:  Mark 9:2-8

Jesus previously said he’s on a hard road with a nasty death at the end of it, and anyone who sticks will him will have to cope with that. But he also said he would give some of them a taste of what will subsequently follow, to show them the path is worth it. Now he fulfils his words by taking three of the foundational apostles, who will serve him and his church, up onto a mountain. There they briefly see into the realm of God himself and are dazzled by Jesus’ glory. It leaves them shaking and confused: they will never be the same men again. But the Lord grants such tastes of glory so that we will keep faith in him and his promises.
