Jesus will do no signs for the leaders of Israel since they are sinfully unwilling to face reality. But he will perform miracles with deeper meanings for his disciples. So he gives sight back to a blind man using a peculiar two step process which includes spit-covered hands. His actions may seem odd. But if we think about them carefully there are lessons about coming to know God and growing up into a mature faith. Lessons his disciples will soon need. Lessons we need too.
