Sermon Summary - Sunday 24 January 2021

Main Bible passage:  Mark 4:21-34

In public, Jesus uses confusing parables but privately he explains his kingdom to his team. This technique, however, is only for these early days. So he assures his disciples that in the future, after the darkness of the cross, the light of his gospel will shine openly and brightly. Meanwhile, let them devour what he’s teaching them for those who want to know God through Christ will receive even more, whereas the disinterested will lose even what they know. And the disciples don’t need to panic in this strange period. Though they may feel the kingdom is very small, it will become a magnificent place to the glory of God. They just need patience, trusting God for each stage of its growth.
