David’s decision to go to God’s tent led to the massacre of the priests. When the sole survivor finds him, therefore, David takes him under this care. This then results in David having the blessing of the Lord’s guidance in his life, through the priestly ephod. Unlike Saul, David is willing to listen to what he’s told and learn to do the right thing, even when things do not go as he would have liked. But David sees the right thing to do. We, too, must be guided by the Lord in life. He does this through the Bible and we must learn carefully from it.
