David is on the run from Saul who wants him dead. Jonathan has done his best to protect him but now David must go where Saul can’t reach him. Where is that? David believes the only answer is to his enemies, the Philistines. So he goes to retrieve Goliath’s sword to help him. Where from? God’s Tabernacle. And when he does so, David finds mercy in God’s house. It’s a mercy he will value all his life. As should all Christians.
