The Philistines feel bruised and battered, and want rid of the wretched “Ark of God”. Yet, the proud leaders are still uncertain this is anything other than bad fate and are wary of the idea of making an expensive offering to the Lord of Israel. These folk live in a fog of ideas: some true, some false. Convinced of the offerings, their experts find a way to convince the leaders of the need. They will send the ark back on transport which should fail, unless the Lord is real. The idea works and the Philistines learn a small lesson. But it will soon be forgotten.
