Sermon Summary - Sunday 12 March 2023

Main Bible passage:  1 Samuel 3:1-10

Thanks to wicked corruption, Israel’s Tabernacle has become a very dim place where little is seen of the Lord’s light. But God has not yet abandoned it and, so, having inserted Samuel into the tent, now he calls out to him. Of course, Samuel has lived amongst people who don’t know the Lord which means that God’s call means nothing to him. But after three awakenings, Eli realises that a voice he’s not heard in a long time is calling out to the lad and he can advise him how to hear it. New experiences of the Lord may come to us when we least expect them or, even, least deserve them. But God is very merciful.
