Sermon Summary - Sunday 18 July 2021

Main Bible passage:  Mark 7:31-37

Jesus continues his quiet trip outside of his homeland’s borders. However, his reputation precedes him and a disabled man is brought for healing. Jesus deals with him personally, showing gracious understanding for his needs as one who is deaf and barely able to speak. But the story will be remembered, recounted and valued by Jesus’ followers, because this man’s experiences express profound truth and Jesus’ dealings with him show the extent and wonder of Jesus’ world-embracing kingdom. This is Christ’s way. He knows and cares for his people individually but then brings us into what is gloriously big and magnificent: his eternal kingdom.
