Sermon Summary - Sunday 11 July 2021

Main Bible passage:  Mark 7:24-30

Jesus has found many in Israel to be as the Old Testament prophet Isaiah once described: “These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” So he takes a break from the nation by moving up into the northern land of Lebanon. Isaiah spoke of that land too, saying that Israel would lose her blessing but Lebanon would gain it. Jesus gives a taste of that future when he has mercy upon a Gentile’s woman troubled daughter. It’s only a small act but it points to the global future for Jesus’ kingdom which, today, we can see has come true. Many lives, all over the world, have now been turned around by the message of Christ.
